(London & NY: 1922). Preface by His Eminence Cardinal Bourne, Archbishop of Westminster. With portraits. Contains Nihil obstat and Imprimatur. Light blue cloth boards with black lettering are rubbed (esp. at spine where call number is inscribed). The pages are clean but age-tanned, the binding is tight. Light marking on ffep. Acquired from the decommissioned library of Blessed Sacrament College in Bensalem, PA. A very good ex-lib copy of hard-to-find volume of letters in English translation of the saint and founder of the Visitation order. { steph}

Comments: Same publisher (HarperCollins) and publishing date (1998), different cover art. Trade paperback, this is Letters to Marc About Jesus: Living a Spiritual Life in a Material World by Henri J. M. Nouwen. The cover has some scuffing and rubbing at edges and spine, the corners are slightly bent. The pages are a little age-darkened, unmarked, and have a little "rippling" as if the book had been rained on, but lightly. Enclosed is a piece of ephemera that came with the book - a an undated, unattributed newspaper clipping showing a black and white icon of the Mother of God and her Son, under which is given the Prayer for the heart of a child, written by Fathert Leonce de Grandmaison. "Holy Mary, Mother of God, preserve in me the heart of a child, pure and transparent as a spring..." Endpapers have markings in ink (old name, numbers). Pages are clean but age-tanned. Red cloth boards have a little scuffing. Nice copy of one of Boros' usual thoughtful books.
